Special project for Frosted Designs

Hi all,

Now is you haven’t ever seen/been/visited Pinterest then your missing out on everything fun..It is a site that you can search for ideas, recipes, crafts, home decor, colours, anything……and I mean anything. I have many tags that I just know I wanna do and use one day in my dream house. I came across an old cheese grater on there, that someone had spray painted and used as a holder…So of course I had to give this a go and put my own touch of fab to it. In one of my junk shopping sprees I was lucky enough to find some old rusted round graters and just knew they would be perfect for this creation.

So I started off with a rusty old grater…cleaned it up, sprayed it white and started creating. This is what I came up with

Hexagons- Frosted Designs challenge.

Ok crafters..time to get creative with the hexagons….Our challenge to you is to create anything you like as long as you have incorporated the hexagon shape into it some how.

I have been flat out with my studies so managed to come up with a quick card that while not that creative…and yes a card (now I don’t normally do cards)…I still think it was quite effective.

Frosted design…Banner challenge

Ok ladies,

The next fantastic challenge that I was involved in over at Frosted Designs was Banners.

Now I am not a banners girl..its a little too pretty for me..but I knew there would be some way I could achieve a ME banner and be happy with it.

So what I did was get an old sewing pattern, cut it up into strips, glimmermist it with my fav colour , dry off with the heat gun, then scrunch it up a a little…and of course finish off the look with some bakers twine.

This is how it looks on my page.

ok so the challenge to you is to get creating…make anything your crafty heart desires …as long as it has a banner of your own style happening somewhere…you fit the challenge.

Frosted designs- Grids challenge

Well its that time again for my fab friday team to showcase some of our work for a new challenge. The challenge is GRID! Thats it, plain and simple….Interpret that anyway you like! We would love to see what you come up with and come over to Frosted designs and upload your creation.

Here is my LO that I did using my sewing machine to sew grids onto the boarder, and also drew up a grid that my title is enclosed in….

And yes sorry about the gory pictures…This was my son’s scooter injury he received 4 days before our school holidays ended. He had a cut or should I say gash right to the bone. It was Lydia (another frosted designs member) that had to get my bleeding son back to me, so I could take to the hospital for treatment. His cut surprisingly only required 5 (deep) stitches and he had to be braced for 3 weeks. Lucky for him (and me) that school was starting so he never missed out on much of the fun of school holidays and he was also the centre of attention at school for some time. And in typical form..a scrapbookers son…I had to print out these pictures and more to send along with him to school so he could show everyone how horrid it looked. The poor nurses must have thought I was a nutter when every dressing change, I would snap some more shots of the healing wound. LOL. So if you don’t lik blood then don’t look at the next close up …that is your warning.

Ok so I saved you from the worse one…we have a few really good close ups LOL.

Frosted Designs..my first post :)

Well if you have followed my recent updates, you would have seen I am now on one of the Frosted Designs Fab Friday team. Super fun and some awesome challenges coming up.

I’m back in the bloggin world

Well yet again life got busy…loads of changes have been happening in my life and kids are busy busy, which means I am busy busy too. And even more crazy is, this year I have decided to study Law at university…so yip a student again. This is gonna be one busy year but I am so looking forward to all its challenges

Even though it has been months since I have updated, I have been still crafting…just either for classes at Scrapbook paradise here in Dunedin, doing up rooms in the new house or for secret squirrel stuff.

Two pieces of exciting crafting news for me just recently…

1st …I was asked to submit to the “New Zealand Paperchase” mag to be on the elite design team….and made it in. So the work I submitted will be shown in the next edition of their magazine..be sure to keep an eye out for it in your local shops. They have some amazing online monthly sketches that you can play along with too so if you wanna visit and have a play look here . And while your there, check out the other fab team members too

2nd.. I got accepted on to Frosted Designs design team..exciting stuff. Now this is a fab group of talented crafters from all over the world, that will wow you with their creations. The new teams are huge and super fun..along with all the challenges, tuts and projects that will come your way. Please come our way and say hi to all the new faces, and talented returning team members. And be sure to play along. The sketches blog can be found here too.

All a load of fun…so get your crafty self moving and check them all out.

So here are a few of my creations that I have been doing while not blogging

I spray painted some frames with white and got creative…this is one of my fav.

mini canvas’s ..using paints, alphas, stamps and much much more….

 

I even got out the sewing machine and did this laptop pouch

I glimmermisted up some rice lamp shades for my daughters room..they look so awesome with the lights on too and she is pretty happy

and a small view of her room and all the frames that I created …all different and some even created from my bestie Lydia. Without her I am not sure I would have been able to fill up this whole wall of idea and a few more frames

ok thats all I can find on my computer right now…will be back shortly with some more creative fun

but better than never.

I did a couple of challenges but never got around to posting them so I will show them here anyway

A few LO’s I have done over the last couple of weeks

still loving my teal colours and can’t get enough of it.

And this next LO is of hard to use colours..I just find yellow and blue hard….esp the yellow. Would almost change Cameron to a diff soccer team so it would be easier for me to scrap if his team hadn’t been together for 5 years now ..mean mummy

Tried a little of everything on these pages..and am liking the looks too. Love how you can just play and it works out in the end. Its all about layering and I say if it doesn’t work…layer some more

Right best go and see if I can get some more of my work photographed..but not liking my chances considering its on again, off again snowing or raining here today.

A couple more pages for my book

I had some time today to play some more with my canvas paper. So I did 2 more pages for the album I wanna make up.

Here is what I did….this was the first one I did and my fav.

I got the end of this quote from another scrappers blog..gorgeous and loved it and had to use it.

And then charli brought me home this card she made at kindy.

Cute as and so random…half christmas and half birthday. I think she was hitting two birds with one stone here….

Some more Art Journal pieces.

Last night I went around to Donna’s house for a little scrapping. I took my canvas pad paper and paints and got majorily messy again.

But so much fun. I have decided to make a journal with my canvas pages …not clues on what will fill it but this is what i completed last night

I used one of Donna’s “dolly mumma” stamps. I so loved this one, and it totally fits me right now.

Using TH’s stamps, outline of the dress from die and loads of paint , textured moulding paste plus some random materials I had lying around my box of goodies…then added some doodling onto the page and mini alphas. I think this one was my fav of the night.
